Millers hit four in race for promotion

STEVE Evans hailed his players as 'terrific' after last nights 4-1 thumping of promotion rivals Exeter.

The Millers took the lead through a first minute Ben Pringle strike which was added to with goals from top-scorer Daniel Nardiello and man-of-the-match Michael O'Conner to give Evans' men a comfortable 3-0 half-time lead.

The second half was played at a slightly more relaxed pace but Rotherham did get another goal through centre back Craig Morgan's close range finish after 55 minutes, with the consolation for the visitors coming from Danny Coles with 15 minutes left to play.

Evans said: "It was a good display of football, the effort, the tenacity and work rate were there and we got the fourth with Craig’s great volley and then went through the motions a little bit. But they saw it out and they’ve deserved their day off tomorrow."

The Millers next fixture sees them entertain Fleetwood Town at the NYS on Saturday (3pm) before a big game away to fellow promotion chasers Bradford City on Tuesday (7.45pm).
