Millers' double transfer swoop

NEW signings Richard Brindley and Adam Collin are being tipped to make an impact at Rotherham United.

Right-back Brindley (20),who had a successful spell at Chesterfield last season, and goalkeeper Collin (28), from Carlisle United, both signed two-year deals yesterday in a double swoop by manager Steve Evans.

Assistant manager Paul Raynor said: "Adam is a good age for a goalkeeper and he's played well over 120 games in League One and represented Carlisle in two Wembley finals. He's a Scott Shearer type and commands his area.

"We're delighted to have signed both him and Richard Brindley because he is another who can come in and challenge for a place.

"He came here because he wants to play first team rather than U21 football. He's an attacking full-back and he's young and hungry."
