Millers could do business

ROTHERHAM United assistant manager Kevin Blackwell has admitted that the Millers could do some business before the loan window slams shut tomorrow.

Football League clubs have until 5pm on March 24 to make the final adjustments to their squads before the final run of fixtures begins after the two week international break.

And Blackwell says that although there is nothing imminent about to happen at the AESSEAL New York Stadium, he wouldn’t rule out the possibility of some activity.

Speaking to the Advertiser, he said: “As we speak, no, there isn’t anything happening.

“There is up until tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon, but we’re not looking at doing anything in terms of incomings.”

Players on the fringes of the Millers’ first team could go out on loan to get some game time and that seems more likely than people coming in to bolster the squad.

Blackwell added:“We’ll just deal with what’s going out as oppose to what is coming in.

“You know what the transfer window is like, you get a mad spell from noon tomorrow afternoon, but as we speak there’s nothing in the pipeline.

“That doesn’t mean that nothing will happen, but not as we speak”
