ROTHERHAM United chairman Tony Stewart says there have already been FIFTY applicants for the vacant manager's job.

ROTHERHAM United chairman Tony Stewart says there have already been FIFTY applications for the vacant manager's job.

But speaking to the Advertiser this morning, Mr Stewart says there will be no immediate rush to replace the outgoing Steve Evans following Monday's shock announcement.

"After eight years in the job, we're better qualified to assess the type of manager we need to take this club forwards," he said.

"The process will not be rushed."

Former Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson leads the favourites list, his odds having been slashed to 4/7 this morning.

Neil Redfearn is second favourite at 6/1 with Stuart Gray having drifted to 10/1.
