Millers chief opts for strong side

ROTHERHAM United chief Ronnie Moore has moved to calm the fears of supporters by insisting he will field a strong side at Hereford United tomorrow.

Hundreds snapped up tickets for the fixture a few weeks ago believing promotion could hang on it.

But with automatic promotion now impossible and ill-informed rumours spreading that Moore would field a severely weakened side to keep key men fit for the League Two play-offs, some supporters have been asking for their money back.

It is believed between 150 and 200 fans have asked for refunds.

Moore stressed that only leading scorer Adam Le Fondre and midfielder Josh Walker will be rested for what is the final game of the regular season and that his side were not going to Edgar Street to go through the motions.

"We need the supporters behind us because we want to finish fourth and go into the play-offs with some momentum," he said.

"It's nice to have no pressure in the final game but that doesn't mean going out with a glass of brandy in our hands and taking it easy. The last thing we want is to go there and get turned over by seven goals.

"We want to send out the right messages and we want our supporters there in numbers."

Kick-off tomorrow is 3pm.
