Millers chief apologises for away flop

MANAGER Ronnie Moore has apologised to supporters for Rotherham United's shoddy display at Hereford on Saturday.

The half-hearted Millers were undone 3-0 in the final match of the regular season, sending them into the League Two play-offs on a low note.

Aldershot await in the two-leg semi-final and Moore is aware his side will need to improve drastically if they are to win through and earn a place against either Morecambe and Dagenham in the final at Wembley.

He said: "I felt for the several hundred fans who went down (to Hereford) and had to witness it and I'd like to apologise to them for the performance.

"It certainly wasn't us. We were embarrassing at times and Hereford didn't have to work hard for their goals.

"I'm not going too slag the players off. You just hope it's a performance that's out of the way now."

The defeat meant Rotherham finished fifth in League Two. They will be away in the semi-final first leg at the Recreation Ground on Saturday (6pm).

The return is at Don Valley Stadium on Wednesday week (7.45pm).
