Millers aim for promotion slot

A PLACE back in the top three is up for grabs when Rotherham United lock horns with Macclesfield Town at Don Valley Stadium tonight.

The clash is the last of the games in hand the Millers accumulated during the winter freeze.

Three points would take them above Bournemouth and back into the third automatic promotion slot in League Two but they will first have to overcome a Macc side which has shown a marked improvement since the tragic death of manager Keith Alexander three weeks ago.

Their 3-1 defeat at Dagenham on Saturday was only their first in four games.

Rotherham go into tonight's clash fresh from a 1-0 win over promotion rivals Bury on Saturday, courtesy of Josh Walker's late strike.

The goal was the second in successive games for the midfielder, who is on loan from Middlesbrough.

Kick-off tonight is 7.45pm.
