Millers add Maguire to ranks

ROTHERHAM United have completed the capture of former Sheffield Wednesday forward Chris Maguire to take their summer signings to 11.

The 26-year-old joins after turning down a new deal with the Owls where he spent three years after joining from Derby County.

Maguire made 46 appearences for the Steel City side last year and joins former Owls Joe Mattock and Lewis Buxton in the Millers' squad.

Manager Steve Evans told the club website: "It is fantastic news that has reached me in Scotland this morning that Chris Maguire has become a Miller.

“This young man is a player I have admired since his days at Aberdeen and he was a lad that was on my targeted list of players at the end of last season. We have had to be patient as we gave this young man the time to speak to a number of Championship clubs who wanted him to join them.”
