McAllister's on a winner for Millers

New boy Craig McAllister was delighted as he made a winning debut for the Millers in the 1-0 win at Dagenham and Redbridge.

NEW signing Craig McAllister was delighted with a winning debut for Rotherham United at Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday.

The striker, who only joined on loan from Exeter City the day before the game, partnered Adam Le Fondre up front as the Millers ran out 1-0 winners courtesy of Le Fondre’s 61st minute strike. It was his 26th goal of the season.

McAllister told the Advertiser: “Dagenham never make it easy. I think I’ve only ever been there once and got a result and that was last year.

“They play to their strengths but we dug in. We found it quite hard in the second half. We might have been hanging on a bit at the end but it was nice to get the three points.”

The victory pulled Rotherham within a couple of points of the third automatic promotion spot in League Two on a day when promotion rivals Chesterfield and Bury both lost.

Ronnie Moore’s side can break into the top three with a win at Accrington tomorrow night.
