A Ford spokesman revealed: “The number of people that will be trained at Magna is pretty unprecedented but it shows how important the new Focus is for us.

“We want everyone in the company, whether they work in sales, or an a reception desk, or do a dealerships accounts, to be able to answer questions about the Focus if they are asked questions by a customer.”

The Ford Focus will be available in two body styles—a sporty five-door hatchback and a five-door estate—from next month.

Prices start from £15,995.
