Lionesses to host Sweden at the AESSEAL New York Stadium

INTERNATIONAL football is returning to the AESSEAL New York Stadium.

England women will host Sweden on Sunday, November 11 (1.30pm) as Phil Neville's Lionesses step up their preparations for next summer’s World Cup.

He said: "This is another exciting fixture as part of our early preparations for next summer’s World Cup. Sweden are a strong side, currently sitting 11th in the world rankings, and we know a number of their players well. I hope our fans will enjoy coming along to support the Lionesses in what I’m sure will be another exciting game.”

A crowd of more than 10,000 at the NYS saw Jill Scott's late equaliser earn a 1-1 draw at home to Belgium in a Euro 2017 qualifier.

Only this year the stadium hosted the men’s U17 European Championships, including the final.

The venue is also among the nine grounds put forward as part of the FA’s bid to host the Women’s Euros in 2021.

Early bird tickets for England v Sweden are available up to and including October 14, priced £7.50 for adults and £1 for children, at TheFA.com/tickets
