Keep up that spirit, says Titans chief Joe

TITANS coach Joe Barker will call for his team to show the same character that almost brought an opening day win as they head to Darlington Mowden Park on Saturday.

The Clifton Lane men were beaten 34-33 by Old Elthamians but Barker was delighted with the way his players battled to the end.

And he believes that Rotherham’s spirit will continue to come to the fore as they look to mount a challenge at the top end of National One, continuing at Darlington's plush Northern Echo Arena.

“Overall as a team I thought we showed amazing character as we came back on numerous occasions in both halves," he said.

“As a young group of lads I thought they showed great resilience and that gives us great confidence moving forward this season.”

Saturday's game at Darlington kicks off at 3pm and admission is just £10 for adults. There's a full preview plus our analysis of Titans' opener in tomorrow's Advertiser.
