Kash Ali makes successful first defence of IBF European Heavyweight title
ROTHERHAM'S Kash Ali completed a successful first defence of his IBF European Heavyweight title with another inside-the-distance victory at Ponds Forge on Saturday.
German opponent Roman Gorst succumbed to an uppercut in Round 7 that caused a suspected broken jaw. He retired in his corner.
Although Ali was made to work harder than when he won the title against Czech Tomas Salek back in May, he was rarely troubled by his opponent, who had won seven of his eight pro fights leading into the contest.
The victory took Ali's win-loss pro record to 20-1.
