'Jigger' books European ticket
Jonathan hugs his dad following the emotional finale.

GOLFER Jonathan Thomson has qualified for the European Tour after coming through a dramatic qualifier in Spain.

Two double bogeys yesterday had dropped the 6ft 9in giant down the leaderboard of this week's Q School in Tarragona.

But "Jigger" birdied the final two holes today to card a two-under-par. His tournament total of 14-under tied him for 17th.

The Rotherham Golf Club pro was embraced by dad Nigel at the finish and can look forward to joining some of the biggest names of the game on next year's Tour, including club-mate Danny Willett.
