It's Wembley for the Millers

ROTHERHAM United are going to Wembley.

Goals from Adam Le Fondre and Kevin Ellison sealed a 2-0 victory over Aldershot Town at a rocking Don Valley Stadium tonight and a 3-0 aggregate win to book a place in the League Two play-off final on May 30.

Le Fondre set them on their way with a header two minutes before half time before Ellison swooped on 67 minutes to set the 7,000 plus crowd into raptures.

Rotherham were full value for their win from first to last.

Showing no signs of nerves and backed by a vociferous crowd, Rotherham started brightly and fashioned their best chance on 22 minutes when Kevin Ellison sent a looping header just over the bar from Nicky Law's searching cross.

Ellison then showed good vision to spray a long and high diagonal ball which found the head of top scorer Adam Le Fondre but goalkeeper Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz came out to punch.

Aldershot began to find their feet midway through the half and had a penalty claim for Pablo Mills' challenge on Dave Winfield but the referee was having none of it.

Le Fondre shaved the cross bar with a cross at the other end as the match opened up but then sent the crowd into raptures with his smartly headed finish before Ellison powered in another header to round off the win.

Millers supporters were doing the conga in the aisles long before the finish as they anticipate the club's first trip to Wembley since 1996.
