Hodge relapse is a blow for Titans

HOPES that Rotherham Titans' Aussie Byron Hodge would be back from injury this weekend have been scuppered.

The big lock forward has been on the treatment table for several weeks with a shoulder injury but had set the target of this Saturday's game against Bedford for his comeback.

But Hodge has suffered a relapse in his recovery process.

Said coach Nic Rouse: "We thought he would be back in contention but the setback means he faces another spell on the sidelines."

Titans aim to get back to winning ways against the Blues following last week's disappointing 11-3 reverse at Richmond. They face a side themselves in the middle of a bad run, although they remain incontention for a top-three finish.

Added Rouse: "It's one we are looking to win although Bedford are a very dangerous side and can attack from everywhere. It should be an exciting game."

Kick off is 2pm.
