Hockey kids seek sponsorship for Stateside tournament

The kids from the Rotherham Blackhawks team, based at Simply Skate at Eastwood, have been selected to play for Team UK in the annual State Wars event in America this summer.

A huge event, it involves thousands of people each year and runs July 21-August 3. 

Blackhawks chairman Wayne Hollier said: “It is a huge event and involved thousands of people each year.

“Our children would love to go but a lot of our members are from deprived areas of the borough and are seeking sponsorship/financial help to make this dream possible.”
