Titans hit back from the disappointment of being pegged back to draw at Bournville the previous week by running in nine tries in a 59-7 victory against bottom-of-the-table opponents who ran the ball from all areas of the field.

Connor Field and Callum Bustin both went over twice for Rotherham and further scores from Harry Newborn, Keifer Laxton, Lloyd Hayes, Matt Williams and Zak Poole, plus seven conversions from the boot of Matt Minogue, helped take Titans over the half-century mark.

Byron said: "It's a difficult one because you look at the league table and think we would expect that result but the boys really put a real shift in. We had huge defensive sets and Blaydon ran it from everywhere, so hats off to them.

"Our work-ons in the week were to concentrate on our own game and make sure we played in the right areas and that we were clinical. I think nine tries shows that."

With the other teams in National Two North's top four also collecting five-point wins, the unbeaten Titans stay fourth in the table.

They are away to third-placed Fylde on Saturday and then Stourbridge, in fifth, next week.
