ROTHERHAM’S Paul Harrison will look to dump the tag of stock car racing’s nearly man in the dirt tomorrow night.
Harrison joins fellow Rotherham racers Peter Falding and Mark Gilbank on the World Final grid in front of 10,000 fans at King’s Lynn, having gone close to taking the sport’s biggest prize without making it to the top of the rostrum.
And he says: “I have had so many disappointments in World Finals I don’t even try and think about my chances.”
Harrison will start on the second row, giving him a good chance of betting lat year’s second place at Ipswich last season—but he’ll have to overhaul top stars Frankie Waiman Jnr and reigning champion Andy Smith to do so.
Added the Wickersley ace: “I’ll give it everything I’ve got on the night and then we will just have to see if that is good enough. "
