Gwyn set for ring return

FIGHTER Gwyn Wale is set for a dramatic ring return after being out in the cold for four years.

Wale, from Brampton Bierlow, last fought in 2006 but has resurrected his career with Rotherham trainer Dave Coldwell—and he’ll be thrown straight into a bill-topping role at Magna in September.

Coldwell reckons the 25-year-old will waste no time in getting back to the explosive form which earned Wale a tough-guy reputation after he turned pro in 2002.

“He was ripped off in his last fight, when he was beaten on points at a bout in Scotland, and walked away from boxing because he became disillusioned,” said Coldwell.

“He’s also been working away, but now he’s determined to get back on course and he’s realised that it’s now or never for him in boxing."
