Good news and bad for Titans

KEY back Will Thomas will be back in contention for a starting place as Rotherham Titans head to Ealing on Saturday — but they'll have to face the second-placed big-hitters without lock James Lasis.

Thomas would have missed last week’s scheduled trip to Vallis Way with an ankle injury but the subsequent postponement meant that an extra seven days' recuperation time has put him back in line for a return. Lasis, though, hurt and ankle in training and will be out for several weeks.

Coach Nic Rouse remains confident that Rotherham can give Ealing a run for their money.

“We lost James to an ankle injury in training on Tuesday and that’s a blow because he’s been playing well,” he said.

“We know they’re a great side and they’re second for good reason. But I’d say we’ve been a bit of a bogey team for them this year and they don’t like playing us, so we will be up for the challenge.”

Kick off on Saturday is 3pm.
