Good Friday on the transfer front?

ROTHERHAM United hope to complete their first transfer business of the summer today.

Barring any last-minute hitches, a defender and a centre-forward are expected to join in time for the start of pre-season training on Monday and more new faces could follow early next week.

The Millers want six new players to bolster their squad ready for the Championship and ideally would like to have them through the door in time for their Austrian training camp the week after next.

Assistant manager Richie Barker told the Advertiser: "We are very hopeful we can finish the final details so these two transfers can go through and ideally we would like more in for Monday.

"There is a manager having a conversation with a player which, we hope, if we can get him in over the weekend can report in with us on Monday. Another player is also having a conversation over the next 24 hours.”
