Genuine belief about us now: Vaulks

Vaulks was part of the Rotherham side which crashed out of the second tier two seasons ago, winning only five of their 46 matches.

Rotherham have three on the board already and chase a fourth home win out of six against Bristol City tonight.

"I can only speak for myself, but we go into these games with confidence now, especially at home," Vaulks told the Advertiser.

"We feel comfortable at home and without trying to detract from the away games, we need to make our home form unbelievable and right now it is pretty good.

"Bristol will be very tough but I fancy us to get something. It was easy to say that the last time we were in the Championship two years ago but whether we truly believed it as a squad, I don't know. Now we do.

"There is no reason why we can't get another win and use those points to keep us up."

Rotherham have been hit by injuries. Kyle Vassell (knee) misses out again having also sat out Saturday's draw against Stoke, as does Jamie Proctor (groin).

Striker Michael Smith has also been grappling with a groin problem along with skipper Richard Wood.

Manager Paul Warne says Wood has a chance of playing and Rotherham certainly need him because the man who replaced him in the latter stages on Saturday, Bristol City loan man Zak Vyner, is ineligible to play against his parent club.

Added Warne: "I think we have a few that will play through the pain barrier. At the moment we do need people out there even if they're only 80 per cent fit.

"Bristol City are really fit and quick so it will be a big ask but we'll take confidence from the Stoke game and we'll ask our lads to stay in the game and then go toe-to-toe with them."

Lee Johnson's side are tenth, just a couple of points outside the play-off frame, but without a win in their last three matches.

Kick-off is 7.45pm.
