Football charity match is a winner for brave Erin Moran

FOOTBALLERS pulled on their boots for a charity match in aid of brave young cancer patient Erin Moran.

The fixture between a Swinton Athletic side and Ring O'Bells O45s at the village's community sports ground brought in £2,120 to help Erin's fight against a brain tumour.

The money will help the young Rotherham United supporter go abroad for treatment.

Necessary precautions were taken during the fixture in line with Covid-19 restrictions.

Swinton Athletic's Andy Billups said: “It was great to see the people of Swinton come out in support of a great cause.

“The money raised is just a drop in the ocean but to reach Erin's £100,000 total, every little helps.”

The total raised is now over £65,000 and donations can be made at the Go Fund Me page at https://gf.me/u/yj4h7t
