Fallon in Millers' sights

Fallon's name was on a list of available players circulated by the Pilgrims despite having been a regular for the League One side so far this season.

The 28-year-old New Zealand international played in the World Cup and lists Swindon and Barnsley among his former clubs.

Tall and strong, Moore believes he could be a good foil for Adam Le Fondre but the player remains undecided about his future due to possible interest from one of his former clubs, Championship outfit Swansea City.

Moore said: "We've had a sniff but he wants to sit tight and see what develops. I think he is waiting to see whether Swansea come in and that's a shame because I think he would have given us what we want.

"Fallon has started three games for Plymouth but I think he's ready for a change.

"We'll be keeping an eye on the situation."

Still in the market for an experienced striker, Moore yesterday submitted an increased bid to Tranmere Rovers for his son, Ian Thomas-Moore.

The striker has asked for a transfer and was the subject of a nominal bid from the Millers last week.

Millers chief Moore said: "Tranmere value him at £100,000 but that's ridiculous for a 33-year-old. We would probably pay that for a 23-year-old but not someone of his age.

"We have offered an amount which we think is realistic."

Ian wants to play and the speculation that Tranmere have offered him a new contract is absolute rubbish."
