Evans pleased with progress

ROTHERHAM United manager Steve Evans says his team are moving in the right direction after seeing them notch another pre-season win at the New York Stadium last night.

The Millers came from behind to beat Championship outfit Bolton Wanderers 2-1 with second-half goals from Alex Revell — his third in two matches — and Daniel Nardiello. Marvin Sordell had given the visitors a half-time lead.

Evans said: "We knew that Bolton would bring a full squad and play with a real purpose and pass it well and move us around and make us work hard.

"We had a number of really good performances and it was just another step on the road to being ready for August 3."

Since returning from their summer break, Rotherham are unbeaten in five matches. They also send a team to Ilkestone tonight (7.30pm).
