Evans emphasises the positives

ROTHERHAM United manager Steve Evans says there is no room for negative thinking as the League Two promotion race reaches its climax.

The Millers bagged their second home win in a week when seeing off Fleetwood Town 2-1 on Saturday, leaving them three points behind third Burton Albion with a game in hand.

That is away to Bradford City tomorrow night, with Evans believing his team is coming into form at the right time.

He said: "We've spoken to the players about only having positive comments to make about everything and that's the common aim now within the group. We'll review the negatives at the end of the season.

"We are coming into form at the right time and in terms of all aspects of the game the last two performances against Exeter and Fleetwood have been our best of the season."

Daniel Nardiello's early opener on Saturday was cancelled out by a swift reply from David Ball before Kieran Agard swooped to score the winner just after the hour mark.

Evans added: "Effort and desire, allied to the huge ability our players have got, won us the game.

"It was a match between two very committed sides. I know a lot of Fleetwood's players personally and they are never going to give an inch but we stood up to their physicality and that stands us in good stead for Bradford."
