Evans and Jackett up for League One Manager of the Month award

Evans' Peterborough United side picked up maximum points in August to top the early league table while Jackett's Portsmouth dropped just two points from their five fixtures last month.

Evans has re-shaped Posh this summer, letting 18 players go. The club's striker, on-loan Nottingham Forest man Jason Cummings, is up for the section's Player of the Month Award after scoring six goals. Portsmouth's Ronan Curtis is also shortlisted for the player prize.

Alongside Evans and Jackett, Walsall's Dean Keates and Sunderland boss Jack Ross have also been nominated for the manager's gong.

The winners will be announced on Friday.

Two-times Millers promotion winner Evans has managed Leeds and Mansfield since leaving the AESSEAL New York Stadium nearly three years ago while Portsmouth is Jackett's first club since resigning as Rotherham manager in November 2016 after just 39 days in charge.
