Equine graduate and former Brinsworth Academy pupil Brooke in the running for her dream job

HORSE lover Brooke Battison is on track to land her dream job in the equine industry.

The former student at Brinsworth Academy was advised by her school careers advisor that Doncaster Equine College was a suitable pathway to achieve both the qualification and necessary skills required to work within the equine industry.

Now the Level 3 student is celebrating her graduation.

Brooke discovered her love for horses when she was about 13.

She has gained valuable experience on a livery yard and was accepted into Doncaster Equine College in 2019 straight onto the two-year Level 3 Horse Care and Management Course.

She said: "A typical day is what you would expect in the real world and we work by a routine that would be expected in a typical yard.

"We are taught yard duties, horse care and learn valuable information in our theory lessons too. Both riding and non-riding options are available to us as well and I chose to be a non-rider.'

She added: "If you have interest in horses, go for it. The instructors are very knowledgeable and supportive and the instructors work with you individually to get you where you need to be. The horses are amazing and my time at DEC has been a great experience."
