NATIONAL Road Safety Week is underway with a message that drink and drugs drive up the number of casualties and road deaths.

 

Road safety charity Brake is urging individuals to steer well clear of their cars if they are under the influence—whether they feel fine or not—as part of the national campaign which begun on Monday and runs until Sunday .

One in six accidents on Britain's roads involve drug drivers and those getting behind the wheel having had a drink are more than 30 times more likely to be involved in an accident.
