Do you know people police are seeking in connection with football pitch invasion?

POLICE have released seven new images of people they would like to speak to as their investigation continues into offences committed during a pitch invasion after Rotherham United’s promotion to the Championship.

Rotherham United’s 2-0 victory over their hosts Gillingham at the Priestfield Stadium on April 30 saw them bag a promotion spot.

Scenes of pandemonium quickly turned sour as supporters ran onto the pitch where fighting broke out.

Objects were also believed to have been thrown.

Kent Police originally sent out a plea last month seeking information from 18 people in connection with the case.

They have confirmed the disorder is being “investigated by officers who have been reviewing footage from multiple sources” and now believe those pictured “may be able to assist them”.

Eight other people have been arrested so far, all on suspicion of public order offences including violent disorder, and all from Kent.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “Enquiries are also ongoing into alleged offences committed by supporters believed to be from outside Kent who entered the field of play from within the Rotherham section of the ground.
