Coronavirus: It's season over Rotherham's non-league clubs after FA ruling

The FA said it had made the decision for the good of "clubs, players, staff, officials, volunteers and supporters during this unprecedented time".

The decision affects Rotherham's three highest ranked non-league clubs in the Northern Counties East League - Maltby Main, Parkgate and Swallownest - and takes in levels three to seven of the league pyramid.

There will be no promotion and relegation between the divisions and all results have been expunged.

All grassroots leagues below, including the Rotherham Sunday League, are also at an  end.

The same goes for the women's game below WSL and Championship level.

The FA said it was reviewing "all options" to complete cup competitions.

It's statement said: "These are challenging circumstances for English football and all decisions taken are in the best interests of the game.

"Today's steps take into account the financial impact during this uncertain period, whilst considering the fairest method on how the sporting outcomes for the season will be decided, with the integrity of the leagues in mind."

Professional football in England has already been suspended until April 30 at the earliest.
