THIS impressive painting of fighting champion Conor McGregor will be up for grabs at a St Patrick’s Day-themed fundraiser.
The spectacular portrait in oil by Rotherham artist Mel Davies will be auctioned during the Shamrocks night at The Brush & Easel in Flanderwell next Saturday.
Live music, traditional Irish party games, pie and peas supper and a raffle will all feature at the event, which is free and will be opened at 4pm by Celtic Rose School of Irish Dancing from Doncaster.
It has been organised in aid of Rotherham Hospice by the family of Irishman Vincent Gillen, who died in the hospice last year after battling cancer.
If it proves popular, the Shamrocks celebration could become an annual fixture in the calendar.
Specially commissioned for the event, Mel’s 80cm by 60cm painting of former UFC world champion McGregor can be viewed at The Makers Emporium on High Street in Rotherham.
Bidding is now open on the Shamrocks Facebook page.
