The father-of-two said “things just snowballed” as he added more and more red and white outside his Thrybergh home.

It soon became a Three Lions shrine made up of 28 St George crosses—and Shaun plans to add another 18 on the roof today.

“My auntie’s been sewing the rest together, so we’ll have them up before England kick-off tomorrow,” said the 31-year-old Rotherham United fan.

“It’s the first time we’ve ever put something up. It started with just one, then we added another and it all went from there.”

“It took me about two days to put up, and since then people have been commenting about it and asking if we were putting any more up.

“You see it as soon as you turn the corner, and people have been stopping in their cars and taking pictures on their phones.”

Shaun’s wife Tracey (37) said their two children Daniel (15) and Matthew (14) were also enjoying seeing the colours displayed at their home, on Royds Close Crescent.

“They can’t get enough of it,” she added. “I share the house with three football-mad lads.”
