Clarke-Harris, Price and Cummings are free to leave Rotherham United

STRIKER Jonson Clarke-Harris, goalkeeper Lewis Price and defender Shaun Cummings head the list of players to be released by Rotherham United.

They are among six professionals told they can leave at the end of their contracts on June 30. Youngsters Mason Warren, Kuda Muskwe and Darnelle Bailey-King are also moving on as the club plans for the Championship.

The names on the list are no major surprise, with Price and Cummings having been out of the team for most of the season and Clarke-Harris on loan at Coventry since January. Teaming up with former Millers boss Mark Robins, he has just celebrated promotion to League One with the Sky Blues and Coventry are said to be interested in signing him.

Manager Paul Warne thanked the released six for their contribution and also admitted that the door isn't closed on a return next season for some of the individuals.

He said: "I'd like to thank the lads for their efforts whilst with the club and I wish them all the best for the future.

"In some cases there may still be a future at Rotherham going forward, we are still looking into the possibility at this stage, but I have spoken to those individuals and said that if there is something out there that is suitable for them in the meantime, we won't stand in their way."

Goalkeeper Lewis Price.

Price (33) joined from Sheffield Wednesday two years ago and has made only two appearances this season as understudy to on-loan stopper Marek Rodak.

Cummings (29) was a free agent when the Millers brought him in last summer and he did well enough on trial to earn a one-year deal. The former promotion winner with Millwall struggled to dislodge Josh Emmanuel from the right-back slot and made only 11 league appearances.

A then club record signing from Oldham, Clarke-Harris was a Steve Evans signing from Oldham four years ago. Despite his undoubted power and flashes of his potential, including a stunning winner against Leeds, his career at the AESSEAL New York Stadium never quite took off.

Shaun Cummings.

He has had previous loan spells at MK Dons and Doncaster and missed much of last season to a cruciate ligament injury. He scored nine goals in 71 appearances.

The Millers, meanwhile, have announced that they will travel to Mansfield Town on Saturday, July 28 (3pm) for a pre-season friendly.
