Charity cricket match is a floodlit 'first'

A FLOODLIT cricket game in aid of charity takes place tonight.

Darfield CC hosts the T20 clash between a South Yorkshire Senior League XI and a Yorkshire South Premier League XI, featuring many of the top players in the area.

It is the first ever game of its type in local cricket in South Yorkshire.

Danny Morton of Phoenix United CC and Warren Bird of Darfield have organised the match in aid of charities Samaritans and Project 14.

The cash raised will add to the £1,560 raised so far with its #ItsOkToTalk bat and car stickers.

The game itself will be the full T20 experience, including coloured kit, white balls and music.

Danny said: “We've worked hard and got a lot of support from people, especially with people making donations to help make this day possible.”

Start time is 6.30pm and everyone is welcome.
