MANAGER Paul Warne will continue trusting experienced Richard Wood with the captain's armband at Rotherham United.
The departure of established skipper Lee Frecklington to Lincoln City last week left questions as to who will lead the side in the longer term.
Wood has deputised before in his absence and was captain at Oldham last Saturday.
Despite speculation linking him with a January move to Chesterfield, the 32-year-old remains the right man for the job for Warne.
"I'm happy for Woody to wear the armband now Lee Frecklington has gone," the Millers chief told the Advertiser. "He's the natural leader of the group anyway. I don't think anyone would complain about Woody being the captain and he deserves it really. He's been a leader for years."
