Calling all junior tennis players...

THE fourth Rotherham Schools Tennis Academy begins on Sunday at Wickersley School—and organisers are hoping to expand the scheme even further.

The area’s best coaches will be on hand for the next ten weeks to deliver quality tuition and prepare students for involvement in the forthcoming school competitions.

Once again this year the School Sport Partnerships will be organising competitions at U9, U11, U13 and U15 for all schools in the town.

Already all 16 Rotherham secondary schools have signed up to play in the merit league on Thursday evenings and it is hoped that many will attend the Academy to hone their skills.

For the primary schools, there will be an U9 tennis festival and an U11 tennis festival, with the winning schools going through to participate in their School Sport Partnership Finals before representing the town in the South Yorkshire County Finals.

Once again an invite is extended to any primary student from Year 3 upwards to attend the Academy.

All primary pupils are asked to attend at Wickersley School at 10am on Sunday and secondary students at 11am.
