BREAKING: Warnock and Frecklington up for Football League awards

ROTHERHAM United manager Neil Warnock and midfielder Lee Frecklington have been nominated by the Football League for monthly awards.

ROTHERHAM United manager Neil Warnock and midfielder Lee Frecklington have both been nominated by the Football League for monthly awards.

Warnock has been nominated for the Championship's March manager of  the month and goes head-to-head with former Millers manager Steve Evans (Leeds United), Russell Slade (Cardiff City) and Sean Dyche (Burnley).

The Millers recorded three wins and one draw in March including scalps against promotion chasing Middlesbrough and an away victory at local rivals Sheffield Wednesday - earning 10 points from a possible twelve.

The judging panel comprises of former Ipswich Town manager George Burley. Sky Sports' Football League expert Don Goodman, Football League chief operating officer Andy Williamson, League Managers' Association director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football trading manager Paul Lowery.

Frecklington meanwhile - who is up for the Championship's March players of the month - is up against Tom Lees (Sheffield Wednesday), Sam Vokes (Burnley) and Marco Antenucci (Leeds United). 

The dynamic club captain scored the only goal against Middlesbrough at the AESSEAL New York Stadium, as well as being a key cog in the comeback 3-3 draw against Derby County at home.

The judging panel comprises Sky Sports' Football League expert Don Goodman, Football League head of communications John Nagle, League Managers; Association director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading manager Paul Lowery.

A decision will be made on both awards tomorrow (Friday, April 8).
