Big night for Joker in Senior Cup

LOCAL football champions Joker gun for their second trophy of the season when they play in the final of the Sheffield Senior Sunday Cup tonight.

The Bramley side take on Scawthorpe Athletic at the AESSEAL New York Stadium hoping to add to the Rotherham Association Cup they won last week.

Joker are also chasing a third straight Senior Cup, having beaten Redmires in last year's showpiece at Hillsborough and High Noon at the NYS the year before.

This time they face a side hopng to become the first team from Doncaster to win the trophy. Scawthorpe won this season's Doncaster Sunday Alliance League without losing a game.

Joker are still in the running to win the Rotherham Sunday League and are in to the final of the Brian Beeley KO Cup. An official ruling is still awaited on the Mexborough Montagu Cup. The 2019 final was abandoned after Joker player Gary Podmore suffered a broken leg and opponents Wombwell

Main had three men sent off. Joker led 2-0 at the time.

Kick-off tonight is at 7.30pm.
