Academy kicked out of plum final
YORKSHIRE Academy have dramatically been booted out of the plum Yorkshire League's KO Final, to be staged in Rotherham next week.
Academy, the winners in 2016, beat Barnsley Woolley in their semi-final a fortnight ago But the Headingley-based side were subsequently found to have fielded an ineligible player and were thrown out.
They appealed but that was today withdrawn and Barnsley now go through to meet Yorkshire North side Woohouse Grange.
The final will be at Treeton's Washfield Lane on Sunday, August 26 at 12.30pm.
