A step in the right direction for Rotherham Titans

ROTHERHAM Titans' Alex Dolly believes the pieces are falling into place for a push up National One.

Dolly's kicking has been one of the most consistent aspects of the team's performances so far and he weighed in with more important points in Saturday's 32-27 win over Sale FC.

But the full-back was also happy to play his part for a Titans side which stripped out some of the errors and weakeness, particularly from the rolling maul, that did for them at Birmingham Moseley the previous week.

"Our discipline was better, you saw that," he told the Advertiser. "The previous week at Moseley, they kicked to the corner and mauled off our silly mistakes.

"This time Sale only scored two tries from our mistakes so we're improving and we also could be better. It is something we will look at during the week but it is a step the right way.

Seb Nagle-Taylor goes in for a try against Sale.

"The lads really put in the effort in the second half. We didn't have much ball and there were really long defensive sets for us and a few silly errors but we managed to graft through and get the win in the end with the bonus point as well."

Titans, 12th in the table, will look to bag their first away win when they go to bottom-of-the-table Loughborough Students on Saturday.
