Vaulter Adam's title glee

The 17-year-old from Wingfield swept through the card to become the first-ever Brit to claim the crown with a faultless performance in Eskilstuna, Sweden.

Adam, ranked no.1 going into the event, went through the qualifying round with one jump and then commanded the final, clearing all heights bar one on his first attempt.

He said: “I’m delighted.\!q I worked hard in training but felt relaxed going into final.

“Winning was amazing and I was proud to be on the top of the podium with the national anthem playing. The best feeling yet in my vaulting career.”
