Wirrall-born Vaulks started out at Tranmere and had a spell at Workington before moving north of the border. He has made more than 100 appearances for Falkirk since joining them in 2013. His performances also earned him a place in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year in 2013/14.

Vaulks is the second arrival of the week after Jake Forster-Caskey joined on a year-long loan from Brighton, adding to manager Alan Stubbs’ other new recruits, winger Anthony Forde and goalkeeper Lewis Price.
