Town ready to play on

Town's participation in the ECB Yorkshire Premier League South was thrown into doubt by a winter player exodus that ripped apart their first team.

Town have had some big holes to fill, not just in their first XI but also in the second string, which won promotion to the top flight of the South Yorkshire Senior League only last year.

But speaking this week, secretary Jim Dixon said that a new first team was now taking shape.

Jim said: “It's been hard graft, it's been a frantic few weeks and it's required a lot of work behind the scenes but we've assembled a virtually new team and we hope it can be competitive."
