Tony's big chance
The Wickersley potter is one of over 150 players who will fight it out in Barry Hearn’s Q School competition down the road at the Insitute of Sport.
The post-Crucible tournament runs from May 11-31 and will have 12 places up for grabs on next season’s pro circuit.
The semi-finalists from each of three week-long tournaments will be handed a spot on the World Snooker Tour, where they will be competing for total prize money of £4.5million.
Tony has been a top amateur player since first picking up a cue at the age of 14 and has always fancied taking a shot at the professional game, with the Q School giving him his best-ever chance.
He said: “This is probably my last shot at making it and I’ll give it everything I’ve got.
