Titans'inquest begins after opening day defeat

THE inquest begins this morning into Rotherham Titans' 32-23 defeat at London Scottish in their Championship opener.

Titans were in the thick of the game until 30 seconds from half time, when they conceded a key try to make it 15-9 at the turn-around - and Sottish then turned the screw within seconds of the restart with another cutting try.

That put the Exiles 22-9 up and there was no way back for Rotherham after that.

Said Lee Blackett: "We knew what they were going to throw at us and they did. We'll have to work on it and come out stronger against Bedford next week."

James McKinney kicked six superb penalties in a quality personal performance while the lone try for the visitors came from Adam Macklin in the dying minutes. McKinney did miss the conversion, which would have given the Titans a bonus point.
