Titans snap up Pendlebury

PREMIERSHIP lock Jon Pendlebury in on his way back to Clifton Lane.

The 28-year-old will sign for his home-town club as soon as he gets medical clearance from Leeds Carnegie.

Pendlebury had a major shoulder operation last year and the Headingley club say they are prepared to release him. Titans see the player, who kicked off his career at Rotherham before moving to Gloucester and then Leeds, as the next piece in their pack jigsaw.

Said head coach Andre Bester: “He’ll be with us by the end of March and we’re looking at him as part of our plans for next season.

“Jon still has plenty to offer, he’s confident that he’ll get back to full fitness and he’ll bring the experience we need.”

Titans head to Esher today in a game they must win to avoid being dragged into the Championship drop fight.
