Titans skipper joins injury list

SKIPPER Joe Barker has joined Titans’ crippling injury list, with 15 players currently in the treatment room.

The centre damaged a tendon in his finger in last weekend’s British and Irish Cup defeat at London Welsh and will be out for a minimum of six weeks.

Coach Justin Burnell has also has to write off Charlie Foley for two weeks after he picked up a shoulder injury in the tie.

And with Ben Foley starting a three-week ban for the red card he picked up in the capital, Titans’ resources have been thinned out significantly for the return to Championship action at home to Cornish Pirates tomorrow (3pm).

“Our biggest problem at the moment is that we have a squad of 34 and there 15 people injured,” said Burnell.

“Losing Joe Barker is a blow for us because he was fantastic for us at Welsh and against Doncaster the week before that.”
