Titans pipped in cup shootout

TITANS just failed at the death to pull off a British and Irish Cup win over Nottingham, battling back from 19-3 down in the final quarter.

After a poor opening hour, Rotherham, fielding an experimental side with 13 changes from Saturday's win over Esher, only had a Dave Marshall to show for their efforts, with Nottingham having stormed ahead as James Stokes kicked four penalties and a conversion with Jethro Rawling notching a 42nd minute try.

Rotherham did battle back with tries from Barney Maddison and veteran Ben Wade but ran out of time as they camped on the visitors' line.

Andre Bester's side now head to London Welsh this Saturday.
